Hi everyone, well, I have just started using Micks ratings and am just experimenting with different things, I used to do my own speed ratings based on Nick Mordins formula, but time restraints meant I had to stop, so I realise like any ratings or handicap it is not an exact science and a lot is speculation but these ratings I think have potential, I am a member at my local track at Great Yarmouth and went there today, I only bet on handicaps anyway (5 races today) and what I done was, as I was accessing the races I put the horses in from the declarations and picked the biggest rating from the last 3 runs preferably over the same distance, do all the horses, take out the non runners and look for the top 3 ratings, I know it is a primitive method at the moment but this is how the ratings came out today,

hi Mick, I am not a big punter (yet) so what I did on tuesday was £10 level stake on the above races because as I say I only bet on handicaps so it is rare to get that many races at a meeting, and it worked well this time, but I am looking at other ways as well to see which is best, as I say now the fine tuning begins cheers Porky
